Multimedia and Multi-lingual
I am the sales manager for a company that carries out large turnkey agricultural contracts in the developing countries of the World. Some of our potential clients, even the ones at government level, are not too developed in English language skills, while at the same time I find it very difficult to conduct a presentation in any other language than in English. I found this a problem on sufficient occasions that I brought the subject up with a marketing consultant. They said that they were aware of the problem and had a way to counteract it. They suggested that I continue to make my presentation in English, based around a PowerPoint multimedia presentation, and provide a printed translation containing the main points in the native language of the audience. If need be, I should have a translator on hand to assist me before, during and after the presentation to answer any questions. I have to say that the concept is very clever and has enjoyed a lot of success since I started to use it.
