reporting identity theft
If you come to know that your credit card number has fallen in the wrong hands, you have several measures that can safeguard you. The first thing you must do is reporting identity theft to the credit card issuing company. Ask them to block the card, or to put an alert on the card, which can help in their investigations. The next step is Reporting Identity Theft to the three credit reporting bureaus. This is for your own safeguard; if the thief makes an enormous bill on your credit card, you can explain things to the credit bureau later on. The best thing is of course to get your card blocked as soon as you suspect its number has been stolen.
